The MiniPainters Paint Comparison Chart

The MiniPainters paint comparison chart is your one place to view and compare colours in miniature paint ranges from Citadel, Two Thin Coats, Vallejo, AK, Pro Acryl and more. In this post I look at some of the features I've included to help you make the best decision when choosing a paint, and look to some of my future plans to take it to the next level.

Choose your base paint range

The first paint range column you see is referred to the "base range". By default I've set this to Citadel as it's probably the most commonly used paint range in our hobby. That may not be the case for you though, and you can change this base range to suit your needs. There's two ways you can do this.

You can click the icon and under Base manufacturer you can choose a different one. The chart will update immediately for you.

Secondly, at the top of each column you can click the icon and choose Set as base.

Filter by keyword, type, tags, colour and more

The customisation doesn't stop there - I've included many ways to search and filter the paint comparison chart so you can easily find what you're looking for. Need an alternative to Khorne Red? Simply type that into the search and the chart will update immediately. Want to see all of the green paints? No problem, open up the filter and click the green circle.

Filter Options

All paints in the MiniPainters database have been categorised by type and colour, and many have been tagged with additional information too, so you can really narrow down your search using the filter bar.

Hide what's not relevant to you

Don't use a particular paint range or just can't get hold of it in your area? No problem, you can hide it from view so it doesn't get in the way. Simply click the icon and choose Hide.

Alternatively, you can click the icon and under Manufacturers to compare you can choose which ones are most relevant to you.

What's next?

This is just the beginning, I have lots of plans to keep improving the paint comparison chart. Expanding to cover more paint ranges for a start, and continuing to better categorise each paint with relevant tags. Another big improvement I have planned is to include painted samples for all paints in the chart. As you can imagine this is a monumental undertaking but work is already under way!

If you have any ideas for features I could include I'm always happy to hear them too - find MiniPainters on social media and drop me a DM.
